Traffic Alert: Lane Closure Scheduled On Busy Roadway In The Region

A busy roadway in St. Mary's County will have lengthy closures for several days as contracting crews continue construction work in the area.

The St. Mary’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation is cautioning motorists that there will be closures on the FDR Boulevard between Kennegad Drive and Athlone Drive in California beginning next week.

According to the DPW, the initial closures are scheduled between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, and Wednesday, June 15, to allow for maintenance and repairs in the area.

“Changeable message signs and posted signs will be provided to remind motorists of the work around the closure,” officials noted. “Drivers are encouraged to follow the posted signs and proceed with caution.”
